Getting to New York City on Thanksgiving day is not easy for most families so many end up watching the Macy’s Holiday Parade on TV at home. But once the balloons are deflated and the marching bands pack up the spectacle moves to Universal Studios in Orlando where it can be seen from December 7, 2013 – January 4, 2014. Each day the parade begins at dusk where it features the large hot air balloons, marching bands from all across the country, and a Christmas tree lighting each night.
After the parade guests are welcome to shop and enjoy special treats at Holiday Village. This village is located in the New York Area near the Music Plaza Stage and features crafts for kids, local artisans sharing their skills, as well as plenty of snacks and treats to enjoy. Get some holiday shopping done while enjoying Universal Studios and pick up keepsakes for a family holiday spent in Orlando.
To make the event even more special on select nights the famed musical group Mannhheim Steamroller performs live for park guests to enjoy. For many the orchestral sounds of this group are just as much a holiday music requirement as classic holiday carols. The group can be seen on the following nights at Universal Studios: Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 6PM on the Music Plaza Stage.
