Disney Night of Joy was cancelled in 2017 after running since 1983.
The Disney Night of Joy takes place at Disney’s Wide World of Sports on September 8th and 9th.
“So, what is Night of Joy?” Night of Joy is an event that celebrates contemporary Christian music. Performers come from all over the world and put on live mini-concerts at various stations throughout the park. The list of performers for 2017 have not been released yet.
In 2016, many top performers performed such as: Chris Tomlin, NewsBoys, Kutless, Leeland, Superchick, Francesca Battistelli, Abandon, Above the Golden State, and Josh Wilson. MercyMe, Abandon, Above the Golden State, Josh Wilson, Flyleaf, Skillet, Jars of Clay, Mandisa, and Revive. This year four new bands will appear: September 11th: P.O.D. and NeedtoBreathe. Grits and Family Force 5. You’ll find all ranges of music, from soft to hard rock.

By purchasing a ticket to the event, you’ll get to ride all the rides that are open. (Most of the popular rides are open for the event.) Entrance to the park begins at 4:00 p.m. and performances start at 7:00 p.m. Because of the shortened hours, ticket prices are lower than a regular park admission. If you purchase before the day of the event, you’ll pay $49.95 plus tax per adult. The two-day ticket is $84.95 plus tax. If you wait until the day of the event, you’ll pay approximately $5.00 more per ticket. There are special group discounts available for 10 or more people.
As any experienced Disney-goer knows, wear comfortable shoes. Do not expect to find seating at all of the concerts. You may end up standing for the really popular artists, but it will be worth it.
