New Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Comes to Disney World

New Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Comes to Disney World

Guardians Of The Galaxy Ride

Predictions have swirled for quite some time now that Disney World might be working on a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed attraction, which is why fans worldwide can finally celebrate with the news that the park will finally fulfill these rumors in the summer of 2022.

Officially titled Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the newest reason to plan a trip to EPCOT park is simply one part of the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

So, to get you and the little ones excited to put one of our Disney World Packages to use, here’s more about what you can expect from the latest addition to the happiest place on earth.

What Will the Ride Be Like?

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be a fast-paced roller coaster attraction combined with the latest in digital media technology and advanced rotating vehicles. Along the way, riders will be surrounded with pop-rock hits from the franchise’s official soundtrack, promising an exhilarating experience jam-packed with excitement.

The ride is most comparable to fan-favorites like the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in terms of speed, paired with the same vehicle movement as Haunted Mansion. As a result, the attraction is poised to be one of the largest indoor roller coasters on earth — not just Disney World.

Where Will the Ride Be Built?

This latest addition to Disney’s ever-growing list of must-visit offerings will be hosted in Disney World’s EPCOT Park, which is home to a variety of international pavilions, unique eateries, and other film-related attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Guests can find the coaster inside Future World, on the same side as Mission: SPACE and Test Track.

When Will the Ride Officially Open?

Thousands of eager visitors have already purchased their Disney World packages to enjoy its 50th Anniversary Celebration attractions, which includes the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT in Summer 2022.

Furthermore, the ride can only be found at Disney World, as it isn’t simply a copy of an attraction from another Disney park. Currently, the only other Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride is Disney California Adventure’s Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!

Who Can Ride the Coaster?

As with most coasters, it’s expected that this attraction will have a height requirement for safety reasons. Though specific details have yet to be released, it’s likely that the coaster will use the same restrictions as other high-intensity Disney rides: that is, around 44 to 48 inches. However, due to the unique structure of its vehicles, there is a chance those numbers could be different — we’ll just need to wait and see!

Will the Ride Be Part of Genie+?

Though Genie+ might be useful for other attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind likely won’t be part of the feature, as the park’s most popular attractions are solely restricted to individual Lighting Lane purchases.
