Disney’s flagship theme park, Magic Kingdom, does not disappoint with the beautifully repainted, iconic Cinderella Castle. Enjoy the six lands highlighting different characters and their magical worlds. In Adventureland, you'll set sail with pirates or take a cruise into dangerous jungles. Frontierland is where you'll explore the old West. Relive the early days of the American experience in Liberty Square. Walk through the pages of your favorite stories in Fantasyland. Take a step into the future in the world of tomorrow in Tomorrowland. There is so much for the family to see and do the whole day at Magic Kingdom!

Recommendations

  1. Begin your Disney vacation by remembering to bring the appropriate mask. If you don't have the correct mask, you may be asked to return it when you have one. You may want to bring an extra one just in case.
  2. Before leaving your car, leave behind any metal objects or glass containers. Avoiding unnecessary walking makes a great difference at the end of the day while visiting the parks.
  3. Make sure you have downloaded the My Disney Experience app, you will be able to check park hours, wait times, mobile orders, and more. It is free and comes in handy when navigating the Disney parks.
  4. Avoid the mealtime rush hours by eating early or late: before 11:00 am or after 2:00 pm; and before 5:00 pm or after 8:00 pm.
  5. Take advantage of lower wait times while everyone else is headed for lunch or dinner.
  6. Wear comfortable footwear. Our average walking distance at Magic Kingdom is about 6 to 9 miles!
  7. Fireworks are still currently on hold, but when they return take advantage of lower wait times on the more popular rides.
  8. During peak hours in midday, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines die down: Liberty Square Riverboat, Hall of Presidents, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Enchanted Tiki Room: Swiss Family Treehouse, Country Bear Jamboree, and Carousel of Progress.
  9. If you plan to attend on a very hot Florida day, make sure to dress toddlers in waterproof diapers. This way, they’ll be free to play in the water splash pad areas.
  10. Even on sunny days bring ponchos, Florida tends to have brief showers during the summer.

Magic Kingdom Characters

While the popularity of the Magic Kingdom makes visiting the characters a little more difficult than the other parks, there is something magical about visiting Mickey at his house and coming upon a princess in Fantasyland. Meeting the characters at the Magic Kingdom does require a little more planning and patience. Here are some tips for collecting those autographs and pictures you’ve always wanted:

Main Street U.S.A

This is where you’ll find a large assortment of characters in the morning. You’ll also find some of the longest lines for characters in the park.

Adventureland

Behind the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, you might see Aladdin and Jasmine from the movie Aladdin.

Fantasyland

Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, reads her story in a little garden near Cinderella Castle. After the story, she interacts with the fans in the audience. This can be one of the best ways to meet Belle, as they limit the number of people per show giving the guests more personal time for interaction. Check the Times Guide or My Disney Experience app for showtimes.

Frontierland

Throughout the day the Country Bears and other characters perform a hoedown, where guests can dance and clap along to favorite folk songs.

Tomorrowland

Buzz Lightyear and Stitch usually hang out near the stage area.

Magic Kingdom for Disability & Autism

If you have someone in your party that has a disability and cannot wait in long lines, Disney has a system called DAS, also known as Disability Access Service card. Once you arrive through the gates of Magic Kingdom, you will proceed to Main Street. The City Hall building is where guest relations is located. They will scan your magic band of the person with a disability as well as an allotted number in the party with them to sign up for the DAS system. If you do not have a magic band, they will provide a paper ticket. Everyone in your party that wants to be on the pass has to be present at the same time in order to be given the DAS pass. Once this is completed, you can use your DAS pass for one ride at a time where the cast member at the ride will provide a return time. It is the time you can go through the FastPass line for less of a wait time. When it becomes available, you can access Lightning Lane through the Disney Genie+ app to cut the wait time. BEST PRICES ON ORLANDO HOTELS!

Disney's Genie+

Please note, Disney Genie is a free planning service app that maximizes your Disney experience offering an itinerary for your Disney trip and premieres in the Fall of 2021. Disney's Genie+, however, is a paid service that encompasses the replaced FastPass+ system of bypassing lines with the new Lightning Lane. So instead of heading to the FastPass line entrance, you would be headed to the Lightning Lane entrance.

About Epcot

Tour the world in one day right here in Orlando! Epcot has 2 sections, Future World and World Showcase. Take a mission to space where you can travel to Mars and create your own future or explore how Disney uses agricultural practices to provide a better future for our world. After you learn, take a dive into a culturally diverse environment where you can get the best steak in Canada or have a spot of tea in London. Have a French pasty, take a boat ride with Donald in Mexico and so much more! Disney has made education and culture fun for everyone!

Recommendations For Epcot

  1. If you’ve purchased a park hopper, Epcot is an ideal Walt Disney World park to visit. It typically is open late.
  2. During peak hours, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines die down: Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Journey into Imagination, Canada Far and Wide, Impressions De France, Reflections of China, and The American Adventure.
  3. Epcot is home to a number of interactive fountains and water-inclusive areas for the kids. Be sure to pack swimsuits for the little ones as they will be sure to enjoy a cool-off session following a long day.
  4. Classic Walt Disney World characters such as Mickey Mouse, Chip, and Dale host all meals served at the Garden Grill restaurant in The Land pavilion in Future World. Be sure to pay this revolving restaurant a visit as the characters roam frequently to greet and interact with you.
  5. It’s much easier to visit the characters at Epcot than at the Magic Kingdom since most people go to the Magic Kingdom first and have already gotten their pictures and autographs. Most characters are found at Character Spot in Future World between Innovations and Club Cool and at The American Adventure. At both locations, you can often meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and such much more Characters at one!
  6. The Water Transportation (water taxi) is not likely to transport you across World Showcase lagoon any faster than a brisk walk. You can save some time and get in some exercise at the same time.

Turtle Talk with Crush

Talk with Crush, the laidback sea turtle from Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo. He’ll answer any questions you have about marine life and what it’s like to be a turtle. Having a one-on-one conversation with an animated character is an experience you’ll never forget!Category: CharacterAge Suitability: All agesFor Best Viewing: Shortest waits are the first two and last two hours Epcot is open.Show Times: Runs continuously from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Epcot Characters

Epcot is possibly the best theme park at Walt Disney World to meet the characters. This is mostly due to the fact that the large size of the park means guests have a greater area to disperse in. The result is some of the more pleasant character interactions to be found at Walt Disney World. Character Meet and Greets can be found in the following locations:

Leave a Legacy

Much like the Magic Kingdom, in the morning you can find characters among the Leave a Legacy sculptures at the Epcot entrance plaza. Since the early morning is when most attractions have the shortest lines, you might postpone meeting the characters until later in the day.

Character Spot

Located between Innoventions and Club Cool, Character Connection is a great place to meet your favorite Disney pals. From one line, which is indoors and therefore air-conditioned, you’ll be able to meet multiple characters at the same time. Usually available for autographs are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck.

World Showcase

Throughout the day the characters can be found all around the World Showcase. In Mexico, Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito are available for autographs. Mulan and Mushu from Disney's Mulan can be found in China. Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or Pinocchio sign autographs in Germany. Aladdin and Jasmine can be found in Morocco. In France, you’ll find Sleeping Beauty and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland often wander around in the United Kingdom. If you want to visit the characters then try to get to World Showcase by the early afternoon for the shortest lines.

Magic Kingdom for Disability & Autism

If you have someone in your party that has a disability and cannot wait in long lines, Disney has a system called DAS, also known as Disability Access Service card. Near Spaceship Earth is where guest relations is located. When it becomes available, you can access Lightning Lane through the Disney Genie+ app to cut the wait time.

About Hollywood Studios

Movie fanatics will love this theme park full of Star Wars and Toy Story theming and characters. Filled with elaborately themed environments and collectible memorabilia from the movies and even live characters you get to meet. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular rides there along with a ride in the iconic Millennium Falcon in Smuggler's Run.  Stop by in Toy Story Land to ride the alien saucers or Slinky Dog before marching out of the land with the green army men. There is plenty to do for a family of all ages!

Recommendations

  1. If you hope to ride Rise of the Resistance, be sure to read the blog article How Do I Get A Boarding Pass for Rise of the Resistance?
  2. Be sure to see Toy Story Land, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Voyage of The Little Mermaid early in the day, before the crowds build up.
  3. Check the My Disney Experience app often to get an idea of exact showtimes and wait times.
  4. During peak hours in midday, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines die down: Walt Disney Presents Muppet*Vision 3D.
  5. For park hoppers, there is a water taxi that links Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Epcot. The boat docks to the left as you exit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  6. Disney's Gondolas also directly connect Hollywood Studios to Disney's Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, and indirectly to Epcot.
  7. If you’d like to visit attractions that your child is too short for, ask a Cast Member about “Rider Switch.” One adult can watch the child while the other adult rides, then the second adult goes to the front of the line. This way you don’t have to wait twice for the same attraction.

Explore the beautiful land of Pandora, inspired by James Cameron's Avatar. Ride on a banshee in a truly immersive and amazing experience that guests from all over the world come to experience.

Recommendations

  1. Rainforest Café usually stays open longer than the park does. You can easily plan a meal after you exit the park.
  2. Check the My Disney Experience app often for showtimes and wait times.
  3. If you are planning to park hop, you may want to start your day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since the park closes earlier than the others.
  4. Be sure to pack plenty of water and refreshments. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is more humid than other parks and attractions take place outdoors, some guests may overheat very quickly.
  5. Everyone and everything will get wet on Kali River Rapids. Make sure that anything that needs to stay dry is stored in a locker or with a non-riding member of your party.
  6. On Kali River Rapids, make sure your feet are above the silver ring near the bottom of the raft; otherwise, water will go over your feet past your ankles. For those who want a drier trip, wear a rain poncho to minimize what gets wet.
  7. Though young children may have loved the film A Bug’s Life, the attraction version “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” contains intense special effects and may prove to be too scary for some.
  8. Plan on arriving at least 30 minutes early for Finding Nemo the Musical.

Animal Kingdom for Disability & Autism

If you have someone in your party that has a disability and cannot wait in long lines, Disney has a system called DAS, also known as Disability Access Service card. Once you arrive through the gates of Animal Kingdom, you will proceed to the Guest Relations lobby located at the entrance of the park. When it becomes available, you can access Lightning Lane through the Disney Genie+ app to cut the wait time.
