Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress Tomorrowland Magic Kingdom

This classic Walt Disney World attraction was revamped in 1996 but is still as charming as when it first began entertaining guests in 1975. Guests are seated in a theater that actually rotates around a 360-degree stage. Each time the theater moves, a new scene featuring an Audio-Animatronic American family is seen. Guests follow this family through the twentieth century and explore some of the major technological advances that have occurred in the home during the early 1900s, 1920s, 1940s, and present day.

There is no height requirement for this ride.

Disney Facts

Through the years, the Carousel of Progress has been the host of two of the more famous Disney theme parks songs, "Now is the Time" and "(There's a) Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow." Both songs were written by the Sherman Brothers.

A hidden mickey can be spotted in the final Christmas scene.

The show originally debuted at the New York World's Fair of 1964-1965. It was then moved to Disneyland where it played for almost a decade before finding its final home at the Magic Kingdom.
