How to Navigate Universal Orlando With Autism

How to Navigate Universal Orlando With Autism

Universal Studios Autism Tips And Tricks

Universal Orlando is a top-class resort that attracts visitors from all corners of the world. But if you or your loved ones have Autism, you might be wondering whether Universal is worth visiting. Well, to cut things short, it is. Universal Studios have taken special measures to ensure that people with cognitive or physical disabilities, such as those with Autism, are not left behind when it comes to having the best time!

Therefore, in this article, we will tell you all there is to know about how to navigate Universal Orlando Resort with Autism.

Let us begin.

Universal's Attraction Assistance Pass

Just like special passes for people with disabilities in other major theme parks, Universal Orlando has its own version called the Attraction Assistance Pass(AAP). It allows guests with Autism and other developmental disabilities to be flexible and wait comfortably for the attractions of their choice.

To get an AAP, head to the Guest Relations situated on the right-hand side after you pass through the turnstiles. It is present in both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Once you get your AAP, you can visit any attraction you like and hand the pass to the team member at the attraction. If the wait time is less than thirty minutes, you'll be allowed to go through the Express line. However, if the wait time is expected to be more than thirty minutes, the team member will tell you a time at which you can return and wait wherever you like comfortably instead of standing in a line.

Quiet Room at Universal Studios

Apart from the AAP, Universal Orlando has taken yet another step recently in making the theme park more welcoming and pleasing for those with Autism. Universal Orlando, in partnership with its Creative and Guest Safety & Accessibility Teams, has created a one-of-a-kind quiet room that gives guests a small but calming place to be themselves for a short while. The room has a soothing color scheme and different activities such as tactile toys that help guests take a break from sensory activities.

The room is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with each party allowed to use the room for 30 minutes at a time. Moreover, the room is sanitized every time between parties. An experienced team member is always present to guide or assist guests if necessary.

Why Book With a CATP Vacation Provider?

Apart from the resources, amenities, and comforts the theme park provides for special guests, there is one more thing you can do to navigate Universal Orlando better with Autism.

Booking with a Certified Autism Traveling Professional (CATP), such as Orlandovacation, will help you plan a specially curated vacation to ensure that you and your little ones have the best time without compromising their health. Moreover, these experienced professionals are trained in helping and guiding people with Autism and will always be there to help you at a moment's notice.
