Everything You Need to Know About SeaWorld’s New Ice Breaker Ride
Though the name might initially suggest otherwise, Florida’s SeaWorld Orlando theme park isn’t solely worth visiting for its oceanic-related attractions alone. Take a deeper look at its diverse range of offerings, and you’ll find no shortage of scream-worthy thrills to fill your vacation with, including rides like Mako, Kraken, Manta, and more.
Well, there’s even more good news, as the destination is expanding with yet another coaster for 2022: The Ice Breaker. In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about SeaWorld Orlando, Florida’s latest addition, as well as how to land the best prices on your SeaWorld tickets this year.
What is Ice Breaker?
As the first launch coaster to grace SeaWorld Orlando since the park’s establishment, Ice Breaker is bringing an entirely new level of thrill to this fan-favorite destination. With a name inspired by the Icy Arctic summits, its four launches are guaranteed to be a hit amongst guests.
Featuring extreme heights and massive airtimes, Ice Breaker sends riders both forwards and backwards during the experience, finishing with a reverse launch that plunges them down a 93 feet drop — at a 100-degree angle. Pair that with hills, turns, twists, and other adrenaline-raising maneuvers (that’s 2,750 feet of track!), and you have one of the most exciting rides in recent memory.
When Will the Ice Breaker Be Open to Guests?
Like many other attractions, Ice Breaker was originally scheduled for 2020 but was delayed multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, the park continued building the ambitious experience, allowing Ice Breaker to finally open to the general public on February 18, 2022.
However, Pass Members have the opportunity to get a head start by visiting the park during the following dates between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. for an advanced ride:
- February 7 – 13: Open to Platinum, Gold, and Silver Pass Members
- February 14 – 15: Open to Platinum, Gold, and Bronze Pass Members and Fun Card holders
