July in the Orlando Theme Parks

It won't be news to you that July in Orlando is hot -- really hot! Expect record setting temperatures and big crowds when you visit Disney World, Universal Orlando and Sea World in July. There are ways to deal with the heat and crowds, and take advantage of all a July Orlando trip has to offer, though. Read on for some of our favorite tips for visiting Orlando in July:

Wizarding World of Harry Potter Head to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter first thing in the morning.

Prepare for extreme heat: Pack sunblock, cool comfortable clothing and at least one bathing suit. You may find flip flops to be more comfortable and cooler to wear than sneakers this month, but make sure the shoes you bring are tough enough to stand up to lots of walking. You won't need a jacket this month, even at night, but you may want to pack a portable, disposable poncho or two, since there will likely be thundershowers during your trip.

Prepare for crowds: July brings record numbers of visitors to the already crowded theme parks and resorts. While you will encounter plenty of lines, visiting the parks in the morning or evening instead of the afternoon will help, as will using line-beating programs like Disney's Fastpass or Universal's Front of the Line pass.

Ride Tips for Orlando in July:

Head to your favorite attraction as soon as you arrive in the park. Heading to the Islands of Adventure? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter should be your first stop; visit this area and proceed directly to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, the park's most popular ride. Use the same technique at other parks; head to Splash Mountain or Dumbo in the Magic Kingdom, Toy Story Mania in Disney's Hollywood Studios and Soarin' in Epcot to ride these popular attractions early in the day.
