Good Friday and Easter Sunday in Orlando 2018
There’s no such thing as a bad time to visit Orlando but Good Friday and Easter Sunday are two of the best times to be in sunny Orlando. What better way to welcome spring, celebrate Easter and have fun with family than by taking part in the numerous events around the city? From Easter dinner to sunrise services, we’ve got all the details on Good Friday and Easter Sunday in Orlando 2018.
Grab the kids for pictures with the Easter Bunny
There are spots all over Orlando for the little ones to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny but there are two options we recommend. First is the Mall at Millenia, which is just 20 minutes from SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Studios Orlando. You can buy their photos or take your own from March 10th through March 31st.
The second option we recommend is the Florida Mall. They have their photo booth set up at their center court near the food court. You can even make a reservation ahead of time so that you won’t waste time waiting in line. You can get reservations starting on March 9th through March 31st.
Visit Orlando for these Easter events
There are churches throughout the city that offer sunrise Easter services. Some of the most convenient for those who are staying in Orlando hotels or vacation home rentals near the theme parks include options at Bok Tower Gardens and SeaWorld. Both offer services at sunrise and both do not charge any type of admission.
For the art fans out there, the Open House at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art isn’t to be missed. Open on Easter weekend, this Winter Park museum is just twenty minutes from downtown and has the largest collection of work from the world-renowned artist Louis Tiffany. While you’re in Winter Park, stop by their Easter Egg Hunt, held every Easter.

Dining options for your trip to Orlando
One of the many reasons people love to visit Orlando is because of the incredible culinary options. This is true on Easter as well. This year we’re seeing a lot of great options within International Drive and Restaurant Row. Favorites in this area include:
- Ocean Prime. If you want high-end seafood, then you’ll love this restaurant. Their Easter brunch menu includes everything from carb benedict to French toast.
- Taverna Opa. A Greek restaurant may not be the most traditional option for Easter Brunch, but they offer free glasses of wine with any lame dish you order on Easter, and will offer free eggs for a traditional Grecian Easter tradition.
Those on Disney vacations have lots of options near the Disney theme parks too, including:
- The American Kitchen Bar and Grill. There are two dining packages here on Easter, one from 7 am to11 am and another from 7 am to 2 pm. The first offers traditional breakfast options when the second adds carving station and additional dishes, as well as a free adult beverage for adults 21 years old and up.
- Bohemian Hotel Celebration. Right next to the lake, you’ll find this restaurant offer a prix-fixe Easter menu all day for $59 each adult and $25 each child.
- Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista. This may seem price at $32.95 for an adult and $13.99 for a child, but when you consider that there’s also free valet parking included, the deal gets much better. This spot will have a carving station, omelet bar, and much more.
- Hilton Orlando. If you’ve chosen the Hilton Orlando of all the Orlando hotels then you can actually get in-room Easter dinner for just $22.95 per person – and for another $50 the Easter Bunny himself will deliver it.
There are of course many options for those whose Disney World packages include a few days at Universal Studios Orlando. Easter special in that area include:
- Rosen Centre Hotel. This brunch costs $47.95 for adults, $18.95 for kids, and is free for children three and under. It includes soup, salad, seafood, certain entrees, carving station, waffle station, and a lot more. The price also includes champagnes and mimosas for adults and there’s no charge for valet parking.
- Rosen Plaza Hotel. You’ll only get in here with a pre-paid reservation but the food will include dim sum, hot buffet, children’s own mini-buffet, carving station, etc.
- Rosen Shingle Creek. If you want endless soup, waffle stations, dim sum, sushi, entrees, dessert, and a wide range of other items then you’ll love this spot. Note as well that Florida residents get 25% off.
