Busch Gardens Unveils New Ride for 2022: The Iron Gwazi
If, like millions of other travelers around the world, spring break marks the beginning of your next Orlando vacation, Busch Gardens should be the next location to place on your itinerary. Situated a short drive away from dozens of Orlando hotels, the Gardens can easily find a place on your list alongside spots like Disney World and Universal Orlando.
Of course, the park already has tons of attractions that make it a worthwhile trip, paired with seasonal events that draw in visitors from all corners of the globe. However, 2022 marks the launch of the location’s latest offering to thrill-seekers: The Iron Gwazi.
So, what exactly is this new ride? And, most importantly, is it worth the trip? Stick around to find out!
What is the Iron Gwazi and When Does it Launch?
Presented as both North America’s tallest hybrid coaster and the steepest and fastest hybrid coaster in the world, Iron Gwazi will open to the public in March 2022. Promising to plunge riders down a 91-degree drop following a 206-foot-tall peak, you’re guaranteed an adrenaline rush as you roar at speeds of 76 miles per hour.
The thrills don’t end there, as Iron Gwazi will also send you soaring into three inversions and a dozen airtime moments.
With a crocodile theme and a twisty coaster path inspired by all the unpredictability the wild has to offer, Iron Gwazi is designed precisely for the modern thrill seeker. Built using a combination of steel and wood (which is where it gets its “hybrid” title from) and crafted by Rocky Mountain Construction, this addition to Busch Gardens is one you won’t want to miss.
Are There Any Other Thrills to Experience at the Park?
Of course! Iron Gwazi is just the latest in Busch Gardens’ growing line of adrenaline-spiking coasters and experiences. If you’re planning to make this the destination for your Orlando vacation, you should also stop by some of the following:
- Sheikra: Scream your head off as this roller coaster sends you down a 90-degree drop, 200-feet above the ground.
- Montu: This fan-favorite inverted roller coaster is a classic example of Busch Gardens’ dedication to providing unforgettable thrills.
- Tigris: Which way is up? Which way is down? It’ll be difficult to find an answer as this ride catapults you across a breathtaking series of twists and loops that defy the laws of gravity.
