Best Orlando Theme Parks for Big Kids
Kids that are in grade school can ride just about everything in each of the theme parks--most pass the 40 inch height requirement for thrill rides and most coasters. Even then most daunting rides like Expedition Everest have a height restriction of just 48 inches. With so may great parks to choose from, which ones are best for big kids? Disney's Animal Kingdom: Live animal encounters, educational programs that are geared for this age group, and plenty of rides make the Animal Kingdom a top kid's destination. Kilimanjaro Safaris is a huge hit for this age group, as is the 3D presentation of "It's Tough to be a Bug". Don't miss the Boneyard, where your child can climb ropes and nets, dig up bones, or just run around and have fun.
Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando: Older kids will adore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which is one of the most popular "islands" in the park. Other big attractions include Jurassic Park, and several superhero themed attractions including the Incredible Hulk Coaster and the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.
