Should You Stay At Disney's Star Wars Hotel?
For decades, Disney’s parks have been renowned for their ability to transport visitors into entirely different worlds. Thanks to clever set design and advanced special effects, anyone can step into the magical park and feel as if they’re millions of miles away from Florida.
As such, it was no surprise to see hype build when the company announced that a Star Wars hotel at Disney World was in development. Featuring a spaceship-like resort concept and Star Wars-themed visual effects, it seemed like a no-brainer for fans of the franchise.
Unfortunately, much of this excitement was short-lived as various controversies sprouted surrounding the attraction. So, what happened? And most importantly, where can you find Disney World hotel deals that aren’t a waste of time?

Issues With Galactic Starcruiser Reservations
As expected, fans clamored to book their stay as soon as reservations opened on October 7, 2021. Originally, only Annual Passholders, Club 33 members, and Disney Vacation Club members were allowed priority access.
Once the rest of the public was allowed to register, dates were taken in a flash, with almost three entire months fully booked out in the span of two weeks.
To make matters worse, the hotel’s website was only updating the calendar periodically, making it difficult for guests to identify whether their desired dates were truly taken or not.
No Disney World Hotel Deals to Be Found
Though no one expected a Star Wars hotel at Disney to be on the bargain end of resort pricing, its cost was still startling to fans worldwide.
For a family of four, a stay of two nights could go as high as $6,000 — oh, and tickets to the park were not included. To make that price taste even more bitter, guests had to submit their payments no more than 90 days in advance, leaving incredibly short notice for them to begin saving.
A Lackluster Experience
For those fortunate enough to book their reservation in time, the controversy was still not over.
In a now-deleted video uploaded to Disney’s YouTube channel, viewers received an early walkthrough of the Galactic Starcruiser. Unfortunately, most fans were disappointed by it, as the resort fell short of some of its promises and — as some stated — even looked more like a Star Trek universe than it did Star Wars.
In response to this lackluster immersion, hundreds of guests have canceled their reservations, with dates across March, May, and June suddenly becoming available.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem like it’s worth filling in these spots with your own Galactic Starcruiser reservations.
