Things to Do in Orlando On Halloween Night

Things to Do in Orlando On Halloween Night

As far as we’re concerned, there’s no bad time to visit Orlando. That said, there are so many things to do in Orlando on Halloween night that it’s an especially special time to visit. Whether it’s just you and your spouse, or you and a gaggle of kids, there’s plenty to do in Orlando on the spookiest night of the year. Check out these options and see what puts a spooky tingle up your spine.

Disney World’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Disney’s Magic Kingdom has long held this special celebration, which offers an incredible trick-or-treat experience. It takes place throughout the months of September and October (along with a few days in September and November) and of course on Halloween itself. Kids and adults alike can wear costumes, though Disney has some very specific rules about this. For example, no masks are allowed.

During the event, you can hob knob with some of your favorite Disney characters who are dressed up in their own spooky outfits. There’s also a unique parade, led by the Headless Horseman, and a special firework display called HalloWishes. Bring your treat bag and gather up some premium candy bars and snacks along the way too!

The party begins at 7 PM and is not included in regular priced admission to visit Magic Kingdom. However, that’s a good thing! Disney closes the park down to regular guests at 4 PM, at which time only those with passes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can visit the parks. This means very short lines on most rides and easy access to most photo opportunities.

Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld

As you’d expect from the unique folks behind SeaWorld Orlando, there is indeed a Halloween party that only they could come up with. Explore an underground “fantasia,” as they call it, which allows kids and adults to trick or treat, make arts and crafts designed for the holiday, and dance along with amazing sea creatures.

This party is included with regular park admission to SeaWorld and it comes with a number of perks, including the ability to find hidden treasures at more than a dozen places by using the Spooktacular map. There are also extra characters, as well as beloved characters, dressed up in their best costumes.

Brick-or-Treat at LegoLand

Halloween night sees LegoLand turn into an incredible, haunted spot with scary Lego creatures, costume contests, and trick-or-treating. You can also see the biggest Jack-O-Lantern made form Lego’s in the entire world. This one is also included in regular admission to Legoland Florida.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando

The above options we’ve discussed are all great options for the entire family. Those with older kids – or adults only parties – who want to find things to do in Orlando on Halloween night will want to flock to the 27th annual Halloween Horror Nights held at Universal Orlando. The streets of this park positively come alive with the undead, as well as monsters, maniacs, and mutants of colors and stripes.

There are nearly ten haunted house, creatures lurking at every street corner, and live shoes that will make you squirm and scream. The rides and attractions are also open, and scare zones are created throughout the park. The prices for this spooky night are not included in regular admission to Universal Orlando.

Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens

Tampa Bay’s Busch Gardens are home to Howl-O-Scream, in which your nightmares may actually come true. This is an event similar to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. You’ll see haunted houses, tons of scare zones, and shows that are as terrifying as they are thrilling. While this park, which is home to some of the most intense rides in Florida, typically only has screams coming from the roller coasters, on Halloween night you can expect them to come from the entire park.

Spooky Empire Horror Convention

Those looking for things to do in Orlando who are into truly spooky and scary stuff will likely love Spooky Empire Horror Convention. This is created specifically for the type of person who likes comic con but prefers the darker side of it. Think rock ‘n’ roll music, tattoos, horror films, and everything else scary about Halloween. There are more than 200 vendors at this event, both new movies out today and those that will be released after the event, and a huge Zombie Walk.

This is just a partial list of things to do in Orlando on Halloween night. As you can see, there are options that work great for families, those that work better for couples, and spooky and scary events from Tampa Bay through Orlando.
