Oktoberfest Events in Orlando 2017

Oktoberfest Events in Orlando 2017

People experienced with visiting Orlando know that while theme parks are fun, they’re not the only thing going on in this fair city. We’ve rounded up some of the best Oktoberfest events in Orlando and the surrounding cities this year. Check them out and decide what’s going to make your list of the best Oktoberfest events.

Oktoberfest at the House of Blues

The House of Blues, located in Lake Buena Vista, has Oktoberfest starting on September 15th and running through October 9th. Their party includes German beer, delicious German food, live music galore and even a competition for stein-hoisting. Though not technically in Orlando Lake Buena Vista is very nearby. Consider that it’s the hometown of Walt Disney World and you’ll see how close it is.

Ocean Sun Brewing

Ocean Sun Brewing’s Oktoberfest 2017 took place on September 17th. They had the typical beer, food, and music you’d expect, but they also had people dressed up in costumes and lots of unique games. While some similar events in Orlando are only open at night, this one started at noon. It’s worth keeping on your list for next year.

Orlando Brewing

While you’re making a list of Oktoberfest events in Orlando for next year, make sure to note down Orlando Brewing. In addition to the food you love and live accordion music, there’s also a beard competition that’s written about all over the world. Bring your favorite bearded friend or just watch the competitors to see just how silly bearded men can get.

Orlando Brewing takes Oktoberfest so seriously that they actually have a second event. In 2017 the date was September 27th and it included a unique tasting of barely-wine from Anisocoria. This was just $15 per person – only those over 21 allowed, of course – and reservations were required.

Riverfront Park

If you’re looking for Oktoberfest events in Orlando that focus more on the music than the beer or dancing, then Riverfront Park may have just what you’re looking for. Starting at noon on October 1st in Cocoa’s Riverfront Park, there will be live music by the Moska Project, Galactic, and Lyrics Born. It will cost you $25 per person if you pay on the day of the event, while advance tickets are just $20.

Schumann’s Jager Haus

Who says you have to stick with one location to make the most of your experience? Not Schumann’s Jager House! Their pub crawl begins at 25 West Church Street in Orlando at 8 PM on October 1st. The cost is $10 or $15 in advance, while you’ll pay $20 at the door. The money includes brats and beer at each location. Make sure you’ve already booked your Kissimmee hotels before you show up – you won’t want to drive after this event.

The German American Society of Central Florida

If you’re looking for something more authentic, then you’ll want to take a trip to Casselberry to the German American Society of Central Florida. This is a family-friendly event that has the German food and beer the others have, but it also has traditional German activities including a flag parade, live music, and folk dancing. There’s also a kid’s zone for the little ones. This event will set you back $10 per person in advance or $15 if you buy tickets at the event.

Avalon Park

On October 7th and 8th, head out to Orlando’s Avalon Park at 13001 Founder’s Square Drive. Enjoy your fill of food, visit the beer garden, check out some Alpine dancing, and enjoy some German games. This doesn’t have a cover price but you will need to pay for your food and drinks.

Celebration Town Center

Later in the month, from October 21st to 22nd, the town of Celebration will have its own event. You can expect leaf drops, live music, hayrides, and dancing. This is likely the most family-friendly even you’ll see and takes place very close to Disney World.

Any of Orlando events are sure to be a blast and each one of them is going to be a lot more fun if you already have your Kissimmee hotels booked well in advance. Learning about another culture is always fun, but Oktoberfest takes it to another level with food, drinks, dancing, and a lot of unique music. We hope you enjoy these special events!
