Orlando has one of the largest convention centers in the world, yet when many business travelers come here they only think of
Disney World and the other theme parks. If you don’t have time to spend an entire day taking it all in, consider these 5 ideas for half-day adventures.
1. Visit a lesser known park
You likely won’t get your admission’s worth if you try to do a half day at Disney World or Orlando, but there are other parks in the area different to Disney World,
Universal Studios or
SeaWorld orlando that can be easily enjoyed in a few hours. Why not try out Gatorland or cool off at Wet ‘n’ Wild?
2. Enjoy delicious Orlando food
There is something for everyone in area Orlando restaurants. You’ll find plenty of chains directly surrounding the convention center area, but for a taste of local flavor try venturing out to further into the city to take a taste of some delicious Cuban food, seafood, or a local food truck.
3. Chill out at the beach
Cocoa Beach is only 45 minutes away and the famed Clearwater / St. Pete beaches are only an hour away in the opposite direction. It’s a nice drive too, and you can enjoy some of the most well-kept and comfortable beaches anywhere in the world.
4. Head to Downtown Disney
If you really wish you could visit the Disney parks, but you know you won’t have time, consider checking out Downtown Disney. There you’ll find tons of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and more. It’s a great way to get a little taste without spending a cent on admission.
5. Make your hotel your destination
Stay in a Disney area hotel to take in some amenities you won’t find elsewhere, like themed rooms, pool activities, and more. These
Orlando hotels are spectacular enough to make a vacation in and of themselves.
