The first time visitor to Orlando often thinks that their entertainment options are pretty limited: Disney, Disney, Universal, Disney, and . . . yep, Disney. While Universal Studios and the Disney World theme parks are the main draws in the area, there are many other exciting options around. Let’s take a look at some of the most overlooked options for 1st-time visitors.

Gatorland

Without a doubt, a day at Gatorland is one of the most unique things you can do in Orlando. Tickets are less than $20 per person and it gives guests a chance to meet alligators in an up-close and personal – yet totally safe - environment. Don’t miss the gift shop, where you can pick up some gator jerky.

Sea World

SeaWorld is one of the hugest draws of this spot in that you’ll get a full theme park experience, complete with thrill rides, but without the lines, you’ll find at other spots in Orlando.

Universal's Volcano Bay

Disney has a few water parks of its own, but Universal's Volcano Bay is the third of the three parks Universal has to offer. Universal's Volcano Bay Water Theme Park, or Volcano Bay, is a tropical-themed water park and replaced Wet 'n Wild as Universal Orlando Resort's water park.

Ripley’s Believe it Or Not

For a relaxing, low-pressure day, check out some of the oddities at Orlando’s Ripley’s Believe it or Not. For less than $20 per person, you can check out truly bizarre artifacts and learn all sorts of kooky history from all over the world. It’s easy to spend hours in this museum, and even longer as you shop for unique souvenirs in their gift shop.

While we all love the Disney and Universal theme parks, the off the beaten path options on this list are a great way to break up your time when you visit the beautiful Orlando area.
