4 Tips for Business Travelers to Orlando

There’s a reason so many people travel to Orlando for business: we have the second largest convention center in the country. There’s also tons for visitors to do, and with the right plan you can get your business done and have a little fun on the side, too. Take a look at 4 simple tips that will help you make the most of your business trip to Orlando.

1.         You can’t do it all

One of the biggest problems visitors have when they visit Orlando is that there’s simply too much to do. They want to try everything and inevitably overbook themselves. They spend half their trip running back and forth from one activity to another, and don’t take the time to enjoy what they’re doing. Take a look at all the things to do in Orlando and choose just a few for your business trip. You may end up doing less, but you’ll enjoy it more.

2.         Take advantage of reduced admission to the theme parks

If you plan to take a day to enjoy Disney World or Universal Orlando, you may worry that it’s not worth the cost for a single day. The good news is that there are ways to save money on park admission. The first option is to buy discount tickets that can save you quite a bit versus what you’d pay at the gate.

Another option is to look for hard ticket special events. These are held during various times of the year and typically don’t start until 4 PM or so. For example, if you’re visiting during October you may buy a ticket to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. You’ll pay roughly half the price you’d pay for admission, with the drawback that you won’t be able to enter the park until 4. However, you’ll have virtually no waits on any rides. Whether you’re interested in the party aspect or not, this ticket is a great inexpensive way to spend an evening in the parks.

3.         Consider non-theme-park activities

Of course Disney World and Universal Orlando may be what we’re best known for, but there are plenty of other activities to take in. From shopping, to GatorLand, to SeaWorld, to hot air balloon rides, there’s always something new to explore.

4.         Sample local flavors

There are hundreds of chain restaurants in the Orlando area, and whether you’re look for a quick inexpensive bite or a 5-star restaurant you’ll find plenty of options. We recommend that you step outside of your comfort zone and try some of the local cuisine. These spots may not get the advertising that the chains do, but you’ll be treated to some spicy, tasty, unique food that you can’t get back home.
