The Sunshine Flyer Replaces Magical Express

The Sunshine Flyer Replaces Magical Express

Whether you’re visiting Disney World for the first time or taking advantage of those discounted Disney tickets as many times as possible, finding efficient Orlando airport transportation to Disney World can be confusing for many. Here's how you can get Disney transportation from the airport (MCO) specifically.

Even solo travelers require a convenient method to get from the facility to the happiest place on earth, either to get a head start on its best attractions or simply get settled in their resort beforehand.

Fortunately, the family-favorite park makes it easier than ever to do so with its newest Disney transportation from airport MCO: The Sunshine Flyer.

What Happened to The Magical Express?

If you’ve visited Disney World before, you’ll probably remember using the Magical Express to get from the airport to the park. Unfortunately, the company announced that it would be discontinuing the service in early 2021, with its final ride occurring on January 1, 2022.

Fans have no reason to fear, however. The Sunshine Flyer is replacing the shuttle and already looks like one of the best ways for visitors to get to their destination in the most stress-free way possible.

What is the Sunshine Flyer?

Immediately recognizable by their 1920s-inspired appearance, the Sunshine Flyer’s vehicles are staffed with “engineers” and “rail conductors” who sport outfits reminiscent of the same old-fashioned time period.

As if that wasn’t reason enough to book a ride, each bus will also offer entertainment for passengers to enjoy throughout their 65-minute journey. Finding Orlando airport transportation to Disney World has never been easier — or as fun!

When Can I Purchase Tickets to the Sunshine Flyer?

Visitors will need to purchase their Sunshine Flyer tickets in advance via its official website, with its first ride starting February 1, 2022. So, whether you’re bringing the whole family along to enjoy your discounted Disney tickets or simply arriving alone, it’s a good idea to snatch yours before they’re all gone!

Visitors will need to follow these easy steps on the website to make their reservation:

  1. Input their flight information, including booking details
  2. Input their flight arrival time
  3. Input their return flight departure time (for round-trip tickets)
Once you’ve acquired your tickets, you’ll find the buses at Orlando International Airport, where they’ll wait at the Ground Transportation area in Terminal B, Level 1. From there, you can sit down, relax, and get ready to be driven to one of the most exciting amusement parks on the planet.

How Much Do Tickets Cost?

You’ll choose between a one-way ticket or a round-trip reservation, depending on your needs. Pricing goes as follows:
  • One-way Ticket: $12.50/child aged 3-8 and $17/adult.
  • Round-trip Ticket: $25/child aged 3-8 and $34/adult.
Overall, this is not a bad price for efficient Disney transportation from airport MCO, especially considering all the extra magic the Sunshine Flyer promises to provide throughout your riding experience!
