Easter Events at Disney World in 2014

The Easter holiday and the surrounding weeks are a few of the most popular times of year to visit Disney and Orlando. Some blogs and Disney advice articles will tell you to avoid the parks at this time of year because of the crowds. The crowds are there for good reason though, the kids have time off for spring break, the weather is at the peak of perfection, and there is plenty to do and see inside and outside of the parks for families and groups—We think it’s worth it.

If you are willing to brave the hustle and bustle to make this time of year unforgettable, you have a lot to look forward to. Here are some of the events that you won’t want to miss during the Easter holiday.

Meet and Greet With Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny

From now until Easter Sunday, April 20th,  the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Bunny will be in Magic Kingdom, Town Square area, to mingle with guests. They will be available from 9 am to 6 pm every day to take photos with and entertain park goers.

Parades

There will be an Easter pre-parade in Magic Kingdom on April 19th and 20th where the Easter Bunny will also make an appearance. This will precede the newer daily parade that debuted this past March, “Festival of Fantasy”.  Quickly becoming a guest favorite, this parade features extravagant floats from “Tangled” and “Frozen” along with a dragon breathing real fire from Disney’s new film “Maleficent”.

Epcot’s Egg-Stravaganza

This is the Easter egg hunt to end all hunts. Going on now through Sunday, Disney character-inspired eggs will be hidden throughout Epcot, and maps and stickers to mark their locations will be available for a small price. Participants can turn the completed map into Disney Traders once all the eggs are found for an Easter surprise!

Bonus: Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival will also be occurring at the same time, so the park will be extra beautiful and spring-like for your Easter egg hunt.

The Floridian Easter Egg Display

This will be the 3rd annual Easter egg display at The Floridian Resort. Master pastry chefs will decorate giant eggs with intricate scenes from Disney films all out of chocolate and frosting. These 18”-20” works of art will truly be a sight to see for adults and kids. The display will be set up until the 22nd and will be open to the public in the resort lobby.

Easter Services

Religious services will take place on Easter Sunday for both Catholic Mass and Protestant Service. They will be held at the Contemporary Resort in the Fantasia Ballroom starting at 8 and 9 am respectively.

***Budget tip:  Staying outside of the parks and Disney resorts will save you money during this busy time of year when hotel prices skyrocket. Try a vacation home or one of our partner hotels at a discount rate.
