1. Bring your own meals
The cost of meals can add up quickly, and an easy way to avoid spending hundreds a day on meals is to bring your own lunches and snacks. A few non-refrigerated, tasty, and easy options include sandwiches, fruit, and granola bars.
2. Be flexible with meal times
Of course you may want to enjoy a few of the incredible restaurants Disney has to offer. The best way to save on these sit down meals is to be flexible with your dining times. Lunch is typically cheaper than dinner, plus, during the hotter months, it’s great to get out of the hottest part of the day and cool down in an air conditioned restaurant.
3. Bring home some magic for less
You don’t have to spend hundreds on gifts and souvenirs. Instead, take pictures of things you think they’ll enjoy or send them a postcard. There are mailboxes in all the parks, and you can even mail them directly from old school mailboxes on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.
4. Carefully check your packing list
You can spend a ton of money on things like painkillers, sunscreen, and sunglasses if you’re forced to buy them in the parks. Consider all the incidentals you’ll need and buy them before you leave home. Just be sure you’re following TSA guidelines if you’re flying.
5. Save on stroller and wheelchair rental
If you’re planning to rent strollers or wheelchairs, make sure you buy the multi-day ticket. These can save you a considerable amount versus the per-day cost. Just make sure you keep your tickets and receipts handy as you may not be able to keep your discount if you lose them.
