2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival Happening Now
What is the Epcot Garden Festival?
Even though Florida seems to be in perpetual state of spring, the rest of the country is just now seeing the first few blossoms after a long winter. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate and enjoy some warm weather than the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. The 2014 festival is being held right now through May 18th and will be sponsored by the popular HGTV, featuring presentations by the home and garden network’s stars every weekend.
What Can I Expect In 2014 At The Epcot Garden Festival?
This year’s festival promises to be more bold and beautiful than ever. Over 100 topiaries will be displayed around the park including Kermit the frog and Miss Piggy, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy on a butterfly chase, and scenes from your favorite Disney princess movies like “Beauty and the Beast”. Younger kids will love the all new “Cars 2” topiary featuring Lightening McQueen as well as Buzz and Woody from “Toy Story”. Even adults might feel nostalgic visiting the Fantasia display located in the World Showcase Plaza. Also, don’t forget to be dazzled by Tinker Bell’s butterfly house, which many consider a highlight of the exhibits.
For the home and garden experts and enthusiasts presentations by Epcot’s horticulturists and the HGTV celebrities will be at the top of your to do list. Stars like Vern Yip from Design Star and Taniya Nayak from House Hunters on Vacation will be teaching you all they know about gardening and home improvements.
Weekend events will also be happening throughout the duration of the festival like Art in the Garden and Florida’s Fresh weekend with flavors of local farmer’s markets.
If the gorgeous sights and floral scents aren’t enough there are plenty of festival foods to try. Outdoor Kitchens will be set up in the World Showcase to give you a taste of each region’s version of farm and garden fresh dishes.
If you go for the flowers and food, remember to stay for the music. The 2014 Flower Power Concerts series goes on every weekend during the evening featuring some iconic 60s and 70s style artists like The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Guess Who.
