Hollywood Boulevard
This main road from the entrance gates to the Chinese Theater serves as a transition from the real world to the Golden Age of Hollywood. Take a moment out to enjoy the Streetmosphere characters.
- *Tip* Film buffs will want to take some time out to explore the handprints in front of the theater.
Sunset Boulevard
This area is home to Hollywood Studios’ most traditional thrill rides; Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is a high-speed indoor dark coaster with multiple inversions. Aerosmith is featured prominently in the attraction. This is definitely a must-see for thrill enthusiasts.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is an extreme attraction on many levels. The storyline is explained in the library pre-show, and the setting is an old service elevator. This attraction is one of the prime examples of the multilayered storytelling for which Disney is famous. Plan to ride more than once, as every experience is slightly different.
Echo Lake
The Star Tours: The Adventures Continue may not be on the edge of thrilling, however, it is a great ride to share with a kid.
This area has two main attractions of interest to the adventure seeker. The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular focuses on physical stunts. The storyline is stunt photography for an Indiana Jones film, and the show provides an up-close look at everything from fistfights to explosions. This show is a definite must-see.
- *Tip* Ever want to be part of the action? Arrive early for casting, and you might get to be an extra in the show (ages 18 and up only).
Star Tours is a motion simulator that takes you inside the beloved Star Wars films. The ride is exciting and quite well done.
- *Tip* Ask for the back row, then lift your feet off the floor and your arms away from the armrests. This makes for a much better ride.
- *Tip* Take time to shop at the Tattooine Traders, located at the ride exit. A variety of Star Wars merchandise, including some limited editions, can be found here.
